Happy New Years

I want to wish you all a very happy New Year. I pray that 2010 is a year that is filled with blessings, good health, happy memories, special times, and above all, mass creativity.
As I look back on the past year, I am filled with mixed emotions as to how the year went. Some great things happened, some bad things happened. There were  hard times, better times, heart ache, and healing. There were good memories, bad memories, happiness and sadness. I guess that is called life and is the way things go. I do feel blessed as we are heathy, happy, employed, loved and still waking up and putting both feet on the floor and facing each new day with whatever adventures it has to offer.
I have no resolutions to make, and never do because I know that I will make a good resolve for about 2 days and then it's to heck with that. I use to say I was going to loose weight, eat better, save more money, ect.... and then what I would end up doing is to gain weight, have more junk food days, spend like I was rich, and of course that does nothing but send one into a tail spin and wonder what the heck happend. So I start the new year with just the hope that this year will be better than the last, and that I will end the year knowing that in some small way, I may have mad a difference, and that I was the best person I could have been.
So with that I once again wish you a Happy New Year, May all your dreams become reality, and may you live each day with happiness in your heart, and a smile on your face! God Bless

Super Busy

Gosh, it seems like its been forever since I have either posted on my blog, or worked in my craft room. We have taken on a project for a friend of my brothers and that is to clean and prepare half of a duplex for renting out. I am amazed at the condition of the place and wonder if the person living there knew what a broom, vacuume, or a mop was. We have had to clean all the surfaces with bleach, prime the walls and paint. The carpets are a mess and she will have to have a professional come in and clean those as that is beyond what I feel I can do with a rental carpet cleaner. The fun part of it has been working side by side with my hubby and with only a radio to listen to we have talked more than ususal and its been fun spending time with him.
I did take some time off yesterday to go out and get some Shopping done, and now I at least have a couple of wrapped presents under the tree, a package ready to send to my daughter in Spokane, and the little gift bags that I make for the Girls in the family are packed and ready to go.
Tomorrow we are heading over to my moms to decorate her home. This is a tradition that has been going on for so many years its hard to know exactly how long. She collects Santa's and every surface in her house is covered with them and every year, my sister and I love taking each one out of the box and putting it into place. The Guys are in charge of the tree and outside lights and they seem to enjoy the yearly tradition as well. We always have Nachos and  anyone new who comes to help decorate has to wear the ugly hand crocheted layered tree and have their picture taken. I really need to make a scrapbook highlighting this, and I don't think in all these years I have had to put it on myself.
Anyway, with a week left until Christmas I pray your all a bit ahead of me, that your shopping, wrapping, baking, and all those other wonderful things that you do for the Season are well underway and that you are feeling the spirit of the Season deep in your heart. May you all be Blessed with Gods Love during this wonderful holiday when he sent his son to pay a debt he did't owe, because we owed a debt we couldn't pay.
Merry Christmas !!

Christmas Time

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that you enjoyed the day whatever it is that you did. We spent the day with family at my Brothers house and it was fantastic. He has to be the best turkey cooker I have ever known, and my sister-in-law makes the best side dishes in the world. Of course we ate too much, laughed just enough, and all in all had a wonderful time.
I don't ususally venture out on Black Friday, as its just way to crazy for me, but my mom had a couple of sale items she wanted to pick up so we were out with the crowds and I have to say it wasn't too bad. Getting there was a challenge because there were accidents going both ways on our freeways, and that caused all of the surface streets to be clogged for miles, but once we made it to the store we were able to find what we needed, breeze through the check out and be on our way back home.
I have a ton of craft things that I am working on for gifts, and need to do some greeting cards for gift baskets they are giving to the widows at View Ridge Community Church. I am also working hard to get some great page kits, mini book kits and other items done for our website  so that we can get it kicked off and really hopping after the first of the year. I just get so much going at once that I get myself confuddled and forget which way I am going. But at the end of the day (or December 24th) I have it all done and things turn out great.
What are you doing for gifts this year? Do you buy most of your gifts? Make most of your gifts? Or do you mix it up and buy some and make some? I would love to see some of your hand made gifts so post them when you get them finished !! Also if you have a favorite candy or cookie recipe that you could share we would love that too.
I hope you all have a great Black Friday Weekend, and that if your out and about, you can take the time to spread some of that wonderful Christmas Magic such as a smile, with the rest of your community.

Salmon Ball Recipe

Well here it is Sunday Evening and I am just now getting around to post the Salmon Dip recipe. I went to look for it, and noticed the cabinet that I keep my recipes in was a bit messy so I cleaned it out, which led me to the next cabinet, and then the others, and of course you can't do the cabinets without doing the drawers, and of course there were things in those that needed to be put away in the other rooms, and those were a mess, and then you vaccume, and of course notice the floors are in need of a scrubbing, and by the time you finally get your Salmon Dip recipe off the counter where you set it to post, your house is clean, your back is aching, and you just don't feel like typing !! So here it is, and I hope you enjoy

Salmon Dip
2 cups salmon-drained and flaked
1 8oz pkg cream cheese
2 Tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp grated onion
1 tsp horseradish
1 tsp worcestersire sauce
1 Tbsp liquid smoke
Mix until smooth. Serve with your choice of cracker
To make this into Salmon Balls (yields 2 balls)
Split dip into two parts, roll into ball shape and then roll into chopped nuts, such as walnuts or pecans
Place on plate and chill until firm. Serve with Crackers

Well there you have it.... What is your recipe to share?

Happy Thursday

I feel the cold setting in, and the rain is on its way again, so its a great time to work on some of those Christmas projects that you are thinking about and get a jump start on your gifts. I spent last Saturday with a group of girlfriends at some of the local Bazzar's and there are so many talented people in the world and it really made me want to lock the front door, hire a housekeeper, and spend every waking hour in my craft room. I have so many things that I would love to do, but in reality there are few that I actually will do.

I am looking forward to spending an entire day with my family for Thanksgiving, and this year we will be at my Brother & Sister-in-law's house and it sounds like it will be a packed house with lots of things to do. We of course will fight over the wii, partake in a round of passwords, shanghi rummy, and there will be lots of bets on the football games. What are you doing for Thanksgiving? Is there a dish that you love to make to share with your family?  Do you like the Turkey for the white meat or the dark meat? Do you like it with cranberry sauce or covered with the Turkey gravy? I would love to hear what you favorite recipe is, and If you would please share it here on my blog with us.... This year I am going to make a salmon ball to share....I will dig up my recipe and post it for everyone tomorrow. I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday and that you find a blessing in some little part of your day today

Another Challenge

The last challenge was quite different and I was not sure at all about it, but I managed to try it out. The challenge was to decorate and envelope and the one requirement was to use a flower created by using a paper towel. I sprayed the papertowel with Tattered Angels Glimmer mist and then let it dry. Then I attempted to use a punch to create the flower and a papertowel and a punch do not get along. So I though maybe If  I placed the papertowel onto a piece of cardstock prior to punching just maybe ......It worked!!!
Once I got the layers punched that I wanted to use, I used a brad to keep them together and then snipped all around the flower to give it that ruffled look. So anyway, this is the way it turned out, and I am glad I decided to do this challenge as it helped me to think outside of the box once again, and I love the way the flower turned out. I may have to use this on some of my other projects.. I hope you all have a great day, and try to see things outside of their normal useage and see them for what they could possibly become with a tad bit of creativity!!!

Shooting Star

You did a great job on the challenge this week! We have selected your layout as our feature "Shooting Star", and it will be featured in our gallery and in our newsletter! Thanks so much for playing along, and congratulations!

This is an email that I received today from Susan at Papercraft Planet. The layout she is talking about is the Mariko One that you can find right her on the blog. I must say I am totaly excited and thrilled. I will of course be doing a few more challenges and getting back into the swing of things. If you haven't visited Papercraft Planet, please do, its a wonderful place for inspriration, ideas and techniques. I love some of the groups and the things that some of these crafters can do is amazing!! I can see that card making is huge, and you tend to see more of that than the actual scrapbooks, but they are much easier to make......I hope you all have a great day, and that you challenge yourself in some little way today.....

Happy Monday

The week end seem to just fly by, but then when your better half is working 6 days a week and there is only one day off, it does go by pretty fast. I worked on some cards this week end using some of my neglected die cuts, and I really forgot how fun they were to use. The samples are made for items we are selling in our online store and in our ebay store (the links are on my banner) and of course I am using some of the online challenges to find my layouts for them. The card I am posting below is for a challenge on papercraft planet, and I have to say I love that site for inspiration and new ideas. I am also busy working on Page kits that will be for sale in our store. This was always one of my favorite things to do when I had my brick and mortar store, and I am finding that I still like it just as much. I will be keeping the originals for my own pages and getting some of my scrapbooking done along the way... now that's what I call multi tasking.
I hope you all have a good start to your week, and that no matter what the weather is like in your area, that you find a little bit of sunshine to share with others that could use a bright spot in their day.

Digital Die Cuts

Ok, I have owned the Quickutz Silhouette for a long time and the poor thing has been dusted more than It has been used.  I figured I should probably try it again and see if I really would use it or if it needed to go to the auction block on ebay. I openend the program and went in to take a look at their online store since I still had some credit on my download card..well, I took a look at all the new things they have added and felt myself go dizzy trying to decide which designs I needed, do I choose the flowers, the holiday items, the animals, the frames ...oh dear ..I could see that at $1.99 each my credit was not going to last very long...Then I saw it...
Than means that instead of $29.99 a month, I could get all the downloads I wanted for just $14.99 a month. Dan was sleeping on the couch, still recovering from his injured back, so I nabbed his wallet and got his debit card and I DID IT!!!
(Dan is aware of my purchase and didn't mind at all)
Ok, now, it only took me 2 hours to find all of the existing designs that I wanted and when I was done adding them all to my shopping cart the price I would have paid would have been over $380......Now that to me is a good day shopping when I can get that and more for my $15  monthly subscription......and I didn't even have to leave the house.
Ok now that I have a library full of digital die cuts I should probably think about using them right? I decided  my mission for today was to do just that. I found a couple of their print and cut designs, which are so cool cuz you send the image to your printer, then when it is done printing, you put it into the silhouette and it cuts the image out too!! No messing with different colored papers, just plain old white and wham bam, you have a colored die cut!! I am so impressed that I think I will have to go back into the store and download a few more of these. Did I mention I loved Shopping?
Well, I did manage to make a couple of things and they are pretty cute if I may say so myself.

This is also for the Belli Challenge #76
Autumn Leaves

So, I will keep this little gem, and I will be visiting the online store the first of each week (they add new designs every week) adding to my digital library.
I Hope you all have a great week end, and that you discover a wonderful use for something that has been collecting dust in your home or life this coming week.

Scrappy Sunday Challenge

I have joined this wonderful site called Papercraft Planet, and one of the groups I have joined is called Scrappy Sunday. They Post a new sketch each sunday and you just do a layout following the sketch. This is a huge challenge for me to do as I am not one that can scraplift with ease.. So I played along and this is the result.. The top one is the sketch and the bottom one is my take on it. The pattern paper is from Chatterbox, Cardstock is Bazzil, Edge Punch if from Martha Stewart and the flowers, bird and Alphabet diecuts are all from Quickutz. I think I follows the sketch fairly well, other than the fact that my scrapping area is larger, and the picture is going in the opposite direction. Have you ever followed a sketch? How did you do?
I will of course continue to do these as I love the challenge and it gives me all new ideas and pushes my scrappy brain to think outside of my box. I hope each of you are having a good week, and that you acomplish something that you have been putting off for another day. Toodles

Holiday Ideas

This card was created using the quickutz fall die set.

As The Holidays aproch we start getting excited for all the wonderful events that will put us together with our loved ones. We create cards to send to those who are not near to us, and then we start to create our handmade gifts for Christmas. I have several gifts that I would like to make and this year I am determined that the only gifts that others(besides the hubbie and grandkids of course) will be hand made. I Love doing mini books, recipe boxes, address books (which I do sell in my etsy shop) decorated picture frames and so much more. What are you planning on creating for the holidays? Please feel free to share with us any ideas that you have. We would love to see your stuff!!
I hope you all get the chance to relax today and that your week is filled with love and laugher

Working On Page Layouts

I have started working on double page layout kits for our web store and I forgot how much I loved doing this when I had the store. I have a few ideas as to the content of the pages I would like to make and the first one is called I Love this face. I know how many random pictures I have of my kids when they were little and they don't all fit into a theme or a full page but put them all together in this kind of layout and they simply work. I was going to go with the title of The Many Faces Of...but that has been used so many times so I did something a tad bit different. I would love input as to what other kind of layouts would be helpful when your scrapping so let me know if you have any ideas. The page kits will soon be available at

Here Comes The Rain

Well the rain has arrived in Washington and it sounds like it may be here for a little while. I love a nice rainy day where you can get out your scrapbooking supplies and create with out guilt that you should be outside in the yard getting some things done. I do still need to cut back a few plants that are finished up for the year so I hope we do get some dry days back soon.
I have found a wonderful site that I have been getting a ton of inspiration from They have a ton of groups you can join and most everyone there has a blog that you can get ideas from too. I am amazed at the talent that some of these people have and the way they are willing to share their wisdome with others. Check them out and join a group that fits your interest.
Have a great Hump day and remember that the Rain is simply liquid sunshine.

Friday For Sure

Gosh where did this week go? I had all these things that I wanted to get done, and hardly anything is scratched off my list. I did want to get the instructions for the Mini File Folders posted, and as you can see that didn't happen. I will work on getting it up before the week-end is over and I hope you will try these as they are easy to make and are a cute gift for a co-worker, parent or just anyone you love. I got a couple of goodie boxes from my friend Barrie at and I was so excited with all the things she sent that I think I just had too much fun playing to actually get serious. We are really trying to get going on some page kits, mini album kits and just some fun crafting kits. It's slow going at first but I think once we get all our ducks in a row it will be fabulous!!!
Anyway Fridays are always fun and I hope you find some wonderful fun things to fill your day with. Take some time today to share a smile with someone who may not have one and could use yours!!

Good Monday Morning

The week-end was so beautiful here. Not as warm as our summer days have been but here in Washington we could be drenched in the rain, but instead we have sunshine!!!
I try to do my baking for the week on Sundays, and yesterday started out to be one of those not so good baking days. I really wanted to make some cinnamon rolls, and unfortunatly I really screwed up when adding the ingredients. I thought I was using my one cup measuring cup when I added the water(2 1/2 cups) but when I finished adding the flour the dough just didn't seem soft enough, and sure enough I had used the 3/4 cup to measure the water... well I tried to add the water that was lacking, and what I ended up with was a slimy ball of dough that of course was not going to be useable....And of course I did't have enough yeast to do another batch, so I ended up finding a great recipe for Oatmeal Cranberry Cookies:

2 cubes Butter Softened
2 1/4 cups Brown Sugar Packed
2 eggs
2 Tsp Vanilla
2 TBSP Milk
Mix together and then add
3 cups quick Oats
3 cups flour
1 TBSP Baking Powder
1 1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
1 Tsp Salt
Stir In 1 1/2 cups cranberries

Bake @ 375 degrees for 10-12 Min. You may need to coat your cookie sheets with pam...

They turned out so good and I will try to do the cinnamon rolls later

So With that I hope you all have a good start to your week and that laugher is mixed with blessings in what ever you do this week.

Happy Friday

Welcome fall to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. The leaves are starting to change colors and that to me is a sight to behold. We love to take a drive this time of year just to enjoy the beauty of the changing landscape. Fall is a great time of year to start planning your projects for the upcoming holiday season. What gifts do you need to finish up or get started? Are you hosting any of your family gatherings and what kinds of things would make those gatherings more festive? There are so many wonderful things that you can make to give away, decorations that will make you smile, and I will be posting some great ideas to my blog starting next week.
I hope you all have a wonderful week end, and that you find your blessings in all the big and little things that life has to offer

Still Working On Posting A Video

I still have yet to figure out how to post a video here but I have not given up trying. I took some time off to create a tri-fold picture frame kind of thing and It is so beautiful. I am going to post it to my itsy site for sale along with the new mini album I just finished. I am also thinking about doing some page kits and card kits for sale and if that would be of interest to anyone please let me know. I would also love to do some consignment scrapbooking but that may have to wait a bit.
I do have to say though, I am looking forward to the days of fall, crockpot dinners, and getting some of my snuggly clothes back out. I love watching Grey's Anatomy, The Practice, Numbers, NCIS, and I can actually work on projects while they are on... Now thats called multi tasking!!!
I hope you are all having a good week and that you find some little or big thing to laugh out loud about!!!

Discovering New Things

While working on this new mini book, I decided that I would try something that I have seen done but never ventured to try myself. I have been stamping on Acrylic and I love the way it has turned out. The key to it is to use Stazon ink and keep some alcohol (rubbing not rum) handy just in case it smudges and you need to wipe it off. You will be amazed at the way it looks. I also used the ink around the edges of the tag I was making to help it stand out a bit from the project. I did try to use some imbossing powder on one of them, and it looked great until I put the heat gun to it and then it shrunk up like a prune and so... you can not do that LOL. I tend to gravitate to the clear stamps as I like being able to see where I am stamping the image. I do have a ton of wood stamps too and they work just fine, as long as I can keep them straight. There are a ton of stamps to choose from and believe me I choose them ALL
Happy Saturday To Everyone and Start Your Day With A Smile

I have a couple of video how to's that I want to share, and as soon as my brain wakes up I will get them posted. Right now I am working on a Mini Book that is really turning out to be so much fun. I love it when I can make a book and it takes on a life of it's own and it's good when it's done. I just wish I could get them to sell so that I can convience my hubbie (Dan) that this could be profitable for me....He just gives me that UH HU kinda look and smiles... I am sure glad he loves me.
Have a happy Sunny Friday Everyone!!

Finding My Direction

Hello All,

I have started this blog so that I can share some of my creative ideas and to have a place where I can link all my favorite places. I plan to have some how to videos and quick projects here, so that if you need some creative ideas here they will be. Please feel free to leave your comments .... Smiles
